In January 79, whilst the now iconic CentreMK was still under construction, George & Pam Ridley moved to the heart of this new town, to plant a brand new church with a vision to reach out to people far from God. In the following 40 years God has done so much through our church and we are so thankful for his faithfulness. This year we are taking time out to celebrate and say thank you but now Is not a time for us to look inward but an incredible opportunity for us to look outward. Outward to all the people who call Milton Keynes their home and still have not discovered the joy of an intimate relationship with God. Outward to those facing hardship in our community. And outward to the opportunities God has given us to bring good news to the poor and practical help to those in need in countries such as India, Uganda and Albania.
This year as a church we will:
- Host 40 days of prayer for the future of our church, our city and our world
- Launch a brand new initiative #formiltonkeynes
- Host a whole church one off celebration
- Continue to develop a sensory suite to serve our city
- Embark on 40 days of intentional acts of kindness
- Launch impactmk.com to promote volunteerism
- Release 400 people into community service
- Invest £40,000 into causes and charities working in our city.
- Send 40 people on mission to Uganda & India with LightForce International.
- Invest £100,000 into the work of LightForce International
Today I’m stepping across the line. I’m tired of waffling and I’m finished with wavering. I’m going God’s way. There’s no turning back now.
I will live the rest of my life serving God’s purposes with God’s people on God’s planet for God’s glory.
I will use my life to: celebrate His presence, cultivate His character, fellowship with His family, demonstrate His love and communicate His word.
I refuse to waste any more time or energy on shallow living, petty thinking, trivial talking, careless doing, useless regretting, hurtful resenting, or needless worrying.
Instead I will magnify the Lord, grow in maturity, serve in ministry, and fulfil the purposes He has for me.
I will value worship over wealth, “we” over “me,”
character over comfort, service over status, and people over position, possessions, or pleasures.
I know what matters most, and I’ll give it all I’ve got. I’ll do the best I can with what I have for Christ today.
I won’t be captivated by culture, influenced by critics, motivated by praise, frustrated by problems,
overcome by temptations, or intimidated by the devil.
I’ll keep running the race with my eyes on the goal. When times get tough, and I get tired, I won’t back up back off, back down, back out, or backslide.
I’ll just keep pressing forward by God’s grace. I’m Spirit-filled, purpose-driven, and mission-focused; so I won’t be bought, I will not be compromised, and I shall not quit until I have finished the race.
To my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I say: Whenever, wherever, and whatever You ask me to do, my answer in advance is yes! Wherever you lead, whatever the cost; I’m ready. Anytime. Anywhere. Anyway.
Whatever it takes, Lord; whatever it takes!’
