Our Story Timeline
40 years of impacting our city
Bringing people to Jesus equipping them to be fully devoted followers of Jesus
40 years on mission.
Bringing good news to the poor and practical help to those in need.
In 1979 Milton Keynes was still very much in its infancy since being given its formal designation as a new town on January 23rd 1967. In January 79, whilst the now iconic CentreMK was still under construction, George & Pam Ridley moved to the heart of this new town, to plant a brand new church with a vision to reach out to people far from God.
What started with a handful of faithful people with a dream in a small community centre in Conniburrow; has grown into a city-wide community of Jesus followers who are still passionate about the mission of Christ which now touches the world through LightForce International.
For 40 years, our church has been committed to reaching out into our town meeting people at their point of need through countless hours of community service. We have also sought to use our buildings and resources to release finance and people into the vision and mission of the church.
At its inception Milton Keynes was created to help alleviate London’s chronic housing problem and soon became known as the fastest growing community in the UK. Milton Keynes continues to grow as a vibrant and diverse community welcoming people from all over the UK and overseas.
That is why mission and the cause of Christ is built into the very fabric of Milton Keynes Christian Centre. So, this Year we will take time to celebrate all that God has achieved through the amazing people of our church over the last 40 years. We will also keep our eyes focused on the future and to what is next.
