The Church

1975

George and Pam Ridley move to Bletchley to pastor church – started with 12 people, grew to 70.

1979

George and Pam start New City Pentecostal Church in Conniburrow School in the Community Annexe

1980

Church moves to Eaglestone Activity Centre

1981

Church moves to Woughton Campus Leisure Centre. With 288 seats, building seemed enormous!

 

1983

Tent Crusades for children take place on Fishermead

1983

Church office and book shop opens at 213 Oldbrook Boulevard.

1984

Land purchased in Oldbrook

May 13th 1985

Turned over first turf on land.

Sept 20th 1986

Church building completed

1989

George went to IBTI to meet Mark Sherratt

1990

Mark and Alison moved to Milton Keynes to be youth pastors.

1990

Day nursery was built

1991

Accommodation Unit was built

1992

Time Out started as a Thursday Group

1994

Ultimate Events started, running for 15 years at Alton Towers

2001

George handed over the senior leadership of MKCC to Mark

2001

George focuses on expanding the missions work of Light Force International.

2004

Children’s ministry launched Dream Team, years 1-7 moved out of main services into Kids church

2006

Time To Build project –1 million pounds was pledged to build new facilities

2006

Sept – Children’s ministry (rather than dept) expanded, age 2 plus to move out of services into Kids church

2009

Nursery Building refurbished allowing our children’s ministry on Sunday to expand.

2009

Time To Build project –a further 300,000 pounds was given by members of MKCC

2009

FUSE Youth ministry started

2009

Preparatory work started on the new building

2010

October – New Church Building opened

2010

 October – Discovery Kids was launched

October 2011

Launch of Conferencing

2012

Record attendance on Easter Sunday at MKCC.

First ‘All In’ annual vision fund launched

Launch of three services in new auditorium
